This month we highlight some of our exceptional early-career researchers. Our graduate students and postdocs created animated videos, bringing their research to life, as part of our Science Communications series. They’re worth a watch! A set of early-career clinical researchers are getting protected time away from the clinic to further their research – congrats to the JEMS scholars. Finally, a story on training scientists and engineers to lead the production of lab-grown, life-grown therapeutics at the Jefferson Institute for Bioprocessing (JIB).
We’ve had a busy month promoting great Jefferson research! Read a story on how neuronal receptors interact on the outside of the cells to drive learning, or a study showing vibration and sound may help us sleep better. We tell the story of research on why exercise and diet might help pancreatic cancer patients and explore methods that have improved survival for patients with uveal melanoma. Browse all of the great stories below.
We’ve also had fantastic media coverage of our research on how statins may be protective in prostate cancer, and a study in JAMA Internal Medicine on why life-saving drugs are available on Craigslist, among others. Check out a sampling of this month’s profuse media clips below.
Thank you for letting us tell your stories! Don’t forget to tell us when your paper is accepted for publication, or if you have an idea for a story for the Health NEXUS or The NEXUS, our online magazines. Email us at ResearchNews@Jefferson.edu. Follow us on twitter @ResearchAtJeff.
All the best,
