Dear Jefferson Research Community,

We hope you’re staying well during the coronavirus crisis. We’ve found ourselves bolstered by stories of our incredible Jefferson colleagues across the institution, who have shown us what resilience and support can look like.

In the past two months, we’ve focused on stories that help our community deal with change: with practical tips for getting through these times, and common coronavirus questions answered. We’ve unpacked the difference between seasonal allergies and covid-19 symptoms, and explained the biology behind preventative measures, and shown how labs are coping with doing research-from-home.

But we always leave room for research, scholarship, and non-covid stories: from research showing that taking a bigger number of medicines during cancer treatment is linked to higher incidence of death, to delving into what transgender patients wished healthcare providers knew about their care. We look at research on mergers and acquisitions, how to discuss covid-19 responsibly, and how people’s perception of traumatic events affects their long term impact.
